It's a funny old world!
I spent many an evening in my teens playing albums in my bedroom - great LPs by, for example, The Chords, Purple Hearts, The Risk and Long Tall Shorty. Admiring the sounds and the look of the bands who were the soundtrack of my early life.
Fast forward to 2017 and Heavy Soul! Records are very proud and quite humbled to put out the latest album by SPEAKEASY - featuring members of, well, The Chords, Purple Hearts, the Risk and Long Tall Shorty!! That's Brett 'Buddy' Ascott on the drums, Simon Stebbing on Guitar, Mark Le Gallez singing and Ian Jones on Bass
What we have are fourteen tracks written by by all the members of the band (plus another Purple Heart Bob Manton) pulling thier collective history and musical knowledge into on helluva great time album.
Taking in a variety of influences from the Sixties to now, this isn't a slowed down acoustic set of bollocks normally associated with supergroups, this is SPEAKEASY and this is hard edged Mod 'n' Roll..
